The Jeep brand of Auburn Hills’ Stellantis has introduced the 2023 lineup for the Grand Cherokee, including the standard edition, the plug-in hybrid Grand Cherokee 4xe, and the new three-row Grand Cherokee L.

Grand Cherokee’s all-new architecture and aerodynamic body style combine to improve vehicle performance, safety and reliability, while significantly reducing vehicle weight, noise, vibration and harshness, Jeep officials report.

Designed to maximize overall passenger safety, comfort and convenience, the Jeep Grand Cherokee delivers off-road capability with three 4×4 systems — Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II with rear electronic limited slip differential (ELSD). All three systems are equipped with an active transfer case to improve traction by moving torque to work with the wheel with the most grip

The class-exclusive Jeep Quadra-Lift air suspension, now with electronic semi-active damping, delivers up to 10.9 inches of ground clearance and 24 inches of water fording. The Selec-Terrain traction management system offers five available terrain modes — auto, sport, rock, snow, and mud/sand — to provide optimized calibrations for any given driving scenario

The 2023 Grand Cherokee offers 7,200-pounds of max towing with the available 5.7-liter V-8. The standard all-aluminum 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine is rated at 293 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. The 60-degree angle between the Pentastar V-6’s cylinder banks make it inherently smooth running, augmented by accessories that bolt directly to the engine block. The 3.6-liter is rated for a towing capacity of up to 6,200 pounds and an estimated class-leading driving range of more than 500 miles.

Design updates include a lowered, tapered roof that improves the Grand Cherokee’s aerodynamic performance and efficiency without sacrificing cargo spaciousness and utility, while the lowered beltline and expansive glass allows more light into the cabin and increases outward visibility.

Technology features include Uconnect 5 on up to three 10.1-inch and two 10.25-inch digital displays in the cabin. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, and Amazon Fire TV Built-in is available along with an enhanced Amazon Alexa virtual assistant.

The 2023 Grand Cherokee is available in four models: Laredo, Limited, Overland, and Summit.

The 2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid vehicle delivers 25 miles of all-electric range and 56 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) and features E Selec modes – hybrid, electric, and eSave – allowing the 4xe driver to tailor the hybrid powertrain to best suit each trip, whether it be commuting, off-roading, or long-distance travel.

The Grand Cherokee’s 4xe plug-in hybrid electric vehicle technology includes 375 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque, the Quadra Trac II 4×4 system with two-speed transfer case and 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio, a 47.4:1 crawl ratio, 6,000-pounds of max towing capability, blue tow hooks, and up to 10.9 inches of ground clearance and 24 inches of water fording.

Grand Cherokee’s 4xe propulsion system combines two electric motors, a 400-volt battery pack, 2.0-liter turbocharged, four-cylinder engine, and TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission for maximum efficiency and capability.

The fuel-efficient 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine is part of Stellantis’s Global Medium Engine family. The high-tech, direct-injection engine uses a twin-scroll, low-inertia turbocharger mounted directly to the cylinder head. Efficiency is enhanced via the use of electric power steering and an electrically driven air-conditioning compressor, removing those loads from the engine.

The 2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe lineup includes the 4xe, Trailhawk 4xe, Overland 4xe, and Summit 4xe.

The Grand Cherokee 4xe exclusively offers the Trailhawk model, which conquered the Rubicon Trail and did so under all-electric power using electric mode. Its features include the Quadra-Drive II 4×4 system with two-speed transfer case and 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio, rear eLSD, Selec-Terrain traction management system, Selec-Speed Control, and more.

The 2023 Grand Cherokee L is the first three-row Grand Cherokee, offering spacious seating capacity for up to seven passengers and individual climate zones throughout the cabin for personalized comfort.

It offers an array of advanced standard and available safety and security features, including advanced driver-assist systems, 360-degree surround view and night vision cameras, plus next-generation technologies including 10-inch digital screens, Uconnect 5, windshield head-up display (HUD), a digital rearview mirror, rear-seat monitoring camera, and an exclusive premium 19-speaker McIntosh audio system.

The available off-road group for the Grand Cherokee L Overland 4×4 model delivers trail rated performance, high traction, ground clearance, maneuverability, articulation, and water fording. It includes high-strength steel skid plates, electronic limited slip differential rear axle, 18-inch aluminum wheels, and all-season performance tires.

The 2023 Grand Cherokee L come is avaible in Laredo, Limited, Overland, and Summit models.
