As battery-powered nailers continue to search for a good weight loss program, cordless air compressors have been making their way onto more jobsites. They’re a nice step forward, but the Metabo HPT 36V MultiVolt 2-gallon air compressor aims to change your perception of what a cordless compressor can be.

Finally, there’s a legit hybrid air compressor! Metabo HPT built the EC36DAQ4 around its 36V MultiVolt system. On one hand, the 36V power source is stronger than most of the cordless models available. On the other, you can use Metabo HPT’s AC adapter to run the compressor with a more traditional cord. Simply go with whichever is the most convenient for the job at hand.

The performance is impressive compared to other cordless options as well. The brushless motor is able to top the tank off at 135 PSI and deliver 1.6 CFM at 90 PSI. That’s 33% more air delivery than Milwaukee’s impressive M18 Fuel air compressor. Plus, the hot dog-style 2-gallon tank refills in just 17 seconds.

Compared to electric compressors, there’s a premium for the convenience and performance of this model. Look for Metabo HPT’s 36V MultiVolt compressor at your favorite retailer for $299 as a bare tool and backed with a 1-year warranty. There aren’t any combo options currently available.

Ryobi Misting Air Cannon Adds Water To Make Cooling More Effective From its first cordless fan to hybrid technology and a 4-inch clamp fan to an 18-inch drum fan, Ryobi has been keeping your life cooler for years. While the Ryobi 18V One+ Hybrid Misting Air Cannon isn’t the first misting fan from Ryobi, it […]

Chill Out with the Milwaukee M12 Mounting Fan Cordless fans have been around for quite a while now, and some of them push a lot of air. That’s great, but there hasn’t been as much attention on 12V systems. The Milwaukee M12 Mounting Fan changes that and as usual, Milwaukee didn’t just stick to the […]

Cordless has come a long way since the early days of lithium-ion power. Where circular saws were initially struggling for adequate performance (and even a 7 1/4-inch blade), they now exceed the performance of 15-amp corded models. We decided to test the waters and pulled our expert team together to discover who makes the best […]
