Next-generation VSD enables 60% energy savings and intelligent, flexible operationAtlas Copco has announced the launch of a new generation VSD compressor in October 2021.With 60% energy savings, the GA VSDS is the most efficient and environmentally friendly compressor ever.Thanks to the pioneering, intelligent features, the operation of the compressor can be optimized and modified to the customer's needs.The new technology is first offered in 22-37 kW GA oil-lubricated screw compressors.GA VSDS is Atlas Copco's third generation frequency converter controlled (VSD) compressor.The VSD compressor significantly reduces energy consumption by adjusting the motor speed when the need for compressed air is variable.When Atlas Copco introduced this technology, the first generation VSD compressor achieved up to 35% energy savings compared to a fixed speed compressor.This number increased to 50% when the new VSD+ was launched.Now GA VSDS enables 60% energy savings."VSDS offers real sustainable innovation," says Stef Lievens, marketing director of Atlas Copco's Industrial Air division."With climate change affecting us all, Atlas Copco has made sustainable productivity our number one goal.
